Our Story

In the middle of 2020 Annabel saw that event hire was becoming increasingly popular overseas and starting to spread throughout Auckland and Wellington. However there wasn't anything available in Christchurch at an affordable price. So that sparked the idea! Why don't we offer this to all our friends who are turning 21? Campbell who is a builder made our numbers, and Annabel organised bookings and ran the social media. From there, through word of mouth Momentous Number Hire was founded. 

Momentous started out with LED 21 numbers and a Donut Wall and have expanded from there. A rebrand to Momentous Event Hire encapsulated the full range of products, and refocused the brand to be inclusive of all events.

Campbell and Annabel ran this together for just over a year. Annabel then ran this on her own on the side of working towards a double degree in Law and Commerce and working part time during the first half of 2022. Then in the middle of July 2022 passed this over to the new owner Maddi. Currently, Momentous Event Hire is being run by Brianna as of February 2024.
